Light Wall PTFE non-shrink tubing

PTFE is short for polytetrafluoroethylene. It’s also known as Teflon and is one of the most commercially used materials for extruded tubing. This NON-shrinking light wall PTFE tubing is sometimes called spaghetti tubing since it’s known for use in particularly small diameters. It is measured according to its American Wire Gauge (AWG) size and is available from 1-32 AWG and as small as 5/16” and ⅜”. Our lightwall PTFE tubing is only .006” thick.

This lightwall PTFE tubing has a low permeability to gasses and liquids. It resists degradation from most chemicals and is hydrophobic, meaning it is impervious to water and substances containing water. PTFE resists UV light and corrosion as well, making it weatherproof, waterproof, and ideal for outdoor and marine use.

Lightwall PTFE tubing is flexible and has excellent crack and stress resistance. It can be used across a broad range of operating temperatures and has the highest continuous use temperature of any fluoropolymer, up to 260°C (500°F). With smoothbore, extruded interior walls and the lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer, lightwall PTFE tubing ensures restriction-free flow no matter how hot or cold your environment gets. Thanks to its superior heat and chemical resistance ratings, it is widely used for aerospace and military applications where fuels burn hotter and stakes are higher.

PTFE can be used as jacketing on long runs of thin, individual wires where bundling isn’t a priority or necessary. Its high dielectric strength makes it a superb choice for insulating electrical connections, protecting critical components, or shielding sensitive parts. PTFE offers some of the best cut-through and abrasion resistance around. It is smooth, hard, and dramatically improves impact strength and lifespans on installations.

Lightwall PTFE can be sterilized or custom printed for easy labeling and identification.
